Frequently Asked Questions

This page answers common questions about Construction Help Finder, a construction-only job board for Southern California. It covers what costs nothing and what's paid, what the platform does and doesn't do, and who it's built for. Its founder, James Wright, is a working mason who still does masonry work day to day.

What Construction Help Finder is

What is Construction Help Finder?

It's a job board for construction work in Southern California. Contractors and other employers post jobs, and skilled trade workers find them and apply. Every job on it is a construction job.

Who is it for?

Contractors, trade business owners, and other employers who need skilled trade workers for a job. And skilled trade workers looking for their next construction job.

Where does it work?

Southern California. That's the area the board serves right now.

Will there be people on it?

It's a new board. The easy way to know is to look. Browsing listings and posting a job are both free, so you see it all before you spend a dime.

What's free and what's paid

What can I do without paying?

Post a job, and browse the listings. Neither one costs anything.

What do I pay for?

Making contact. If you posted a job, you pay to see who applied and get in touch. If you're looking for work, you pay to send in your application.

How much does it cost?

Current prices are shown on the platform itself. They aren't listed on this site.

Why charge both sides?

A small fee on each side means everyone on the board has something on the line. A board anyone can join for free fills up with people who aren't serious.

What the platform does and doesn't do

Does Construction Help Finder check workers' skills or licenses?

No. The platform doesn't do any vetting or screening, and neither side needs a license to join. You talk to the person and make your own call.

Does the platform send workers to my job?

No. It connects contractors and skilled trade workers, and that's all it does. The people on the board don't work for the platform.

Does it handle pay between us?

No. You and the other person agree on pay and settle it yourselves. The platform never holds or passes along money.

Is a hire guaranteed?

No. Whether a job gets filled depends on who applies and who you choose. Posting is free, and you only pay when you're ready to see who applied.
